Mitooma People’s Development Trust Sacco Ltd seeks to recruit qualified persons to fill the vacant positions as detailed below;

Human Resource Manager: (1 Position)

Reports to: General Manager

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Participate in developing and implementing appropriate company policies and procedures in consultation with the General Manager.
  2. Participate in recruitment, confirmation, transfer, promotion and termination matters in accordance with the approved Mitooma People’s Dev’t Trust SACCO policies.
  3. Put in place and regularly update a system which will hold personal details of individual employees, e.g. skills and qualifications, career history, leave and absence records, employees’ jobs including; grades, pay and benefits, job descriptions, etc.
  4. Participating in reviews of compensation packages and other benefits available to the employees of Mitooma People’s Dev’t Trust SACCO.
  5. Maintain the Job Evaluation system and ensure job descriptions are kept up to date and job appropriately graded.
  6. Ensure that all employees are advised on Human Resource policies and legislations which concern them e.g. conditions of service, government legislation, code of conduct and policies and procedures.
  7. Analyze the appraisal of all staff and produce related statistics concerning performance and related salary increments.
  8. Implement Human Resource policies and procedures, providing information to the staff and answering their queries.
  9. Ensure proper maintenance and updating of personnel records of employees.
  10. Put in place a performance management system to alert managers to appraise their staff, analyze performance appraisal and determine training needs of Mitooma People’s Dev’t Trust SACCO staff.
  11. Handle grievances, disciplinary matters and maintain code of conduct that protects member trust and prevents fraud.
  12. Perform any other duties assigned from time to time by the General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Post graduate Diploma in HR is an added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years proven HR experience, preferably in a SACCO, MFI, Bank or other financial institution.
  • Working knowledge of all regulations and Ugandan labor laws.
  • Must be between 35 to 45 years of age.
  • Strong people management integrity, communication, confidentiality, leadership and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS office and HR management systems.

Legal Officer (1 Position)

Reports To: The General Manager

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To represent the Sacco internally and externally in negotiations ,disputes, consultations and other legal proceedings instituted by  and against the Sacco
  2. Monitor external legal services in order to ensure effective representation of the Sacco in the courts of law.
  3. Draft, review and renew contracts between the Sacco and the various service providers, and advise on the suitability of the clauses therein.
  4. Ensure that the stamp duty paid on all contracts proof thereof maintained prior to being properly filed in fireproof cabinets.
  5. Follow up with the Sacco’s external lawyers to ensure that the Sacco is well represented in the courts of law and that the securities are perfected in a timely manner.
  6. Provide legal advice to management and staff in all areas  of the Sacco
  7. Review legal documentation prepared for the Sacco or arising from the Sacco’s activities with a view to minimize legal risks.
  8. Assist the board secretary in the execution of his duties as and when required.
  9. Support the credit department in handling loan takes over processes including issuing letters of undertakings, demand notices and follow up on release of securities to purchasing entities.
  10. Provide legal advice to support business operations on legal matters relating to among others account opening and operations in a bid to ensure that they are in accordance with the Sacco policies and procedures.
  11. Monitoring changes in relevant legislation and regulatory environment and taking appropriate action. Researching and submitting legal options concerning security documentation, real estate development, government regulations and new regulations and trends affecting the organization, including but not limited to staff training.
  12. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of Diploma in Law from a recognized university or institution.
  • Advocate of the High Court of Uganda with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Certification in compliance, corporate governance or co-operative law.
  • Minimum 1 year post enrollment experience for officer role in SACCOs, MFIs or banks.
  • Age of 25 to 45 years
  • Good communication skills.

IT Officer

Report to: The General Manager

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Install, configure and maintain computer hardware and software and networks.
  2. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, photocopiers, UPS and servers.
  3. Provide technical support to staff on hard ware, software, email issues and other IT related problems.
  4. Ensure security of IT systems, including data backups, antivirus, protection, and access control.
  5. Manage and monitor network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  6. Implement and enforce IT policies procedures and standards to ensure compliance and security.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to understand IT needs and requirements.
  8. Plan and execute IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and installations
  9. Document IT systems, configurations and procedures for knowledge sharing and training.
  10. Ensure daily data backups are done and tested by maintaining offsite backup.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma/Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field from a recognized university or institution.
  • Certification in A+, N+, or relevant core banking system is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years IT support, preferably in a SACCO, MFI, or bank
  • Age of 25 to 45 years.
  • Hands-on experience with a SACCO core banking system
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, networking, and database basics
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of SACCO operations: loans, savings, shares
  • Good communication — must explain tech to non-tech staff
  • High integrity — you will handle sensitive financial data.
  • Knowledge of all regulations for Tier 4 MFIs/SACCOs
  • Experience with mobile banking integration and APIs
